June 5. UPDATED. A roofing company employee fell to his death from the roof of a large home on Paradise Cove Lane this morning. He has been identified as Jason Ray Thomas. Police have not released any other information.

The incident, which happened around 9 am at a 7,300 square foot house, took place in the vicinity of the roofer’s son, who was also an employee of the roofing company. His father passed away on the scene.

Multiple police, fire and Medic vehicles were dispatched as well as OSHA. Roofers have one of the highest work-related death rates in construction, about twice the average for all types of construction work.

Father trying to raise a family teaching son along the way. Time for the community to give the son the best show of respect he will never forget.

Our mistake. We were on Paradise Cove, reading the sign Paradise and wrote Peninsula during an upsetting incident. Very sorry.

Our deepest sympathies to his sons and family. Jason was a kind man. He worked on our home with his two sons so we got to know them recently for a brief time. I am in shock and sadden by this news. I will remember most his excitement when he talked about bass fishing and catching the big one. I pray for his youngest son especially, D who worked with him, he’s a wonderful young man. Jacqueline Y. & family

This young boy and his sisters have been left in charge of funeral expenses. If anybody would like to donate to the cause it would be appreciated.

Jason was my best friend and my fiancé.He was an amazing man all around who loved his family deeply and worked hard. I worked with him for years and learned alot from him, he was a very interesting and intelligent man and my life will never be the same without him. We have been raising his son together since he was 13 and it’s tragic that he had to experience something so painfully unimaginable. Jason Ray we all love and miss you so much our sweet angel.
