Sen. Tillis: North Africa faces famine because of war in Ukraine

May 24. More than 100 business and community leaders attended a Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce luncheon with US Sen. Thom Tillis last week at Northstone Country Club in Huntersville.

Tillis discussed the impact of rising inflation and gas prices, the border crisis and his support for the $40 billion Ukraine assistance package.

The Ukrainian people continue to face Russian aggression and brutality and desperately need continued support, Tillis said.

Parts of North Africa are facing famine.

“Some parts of the world may soon face famine as a result, which would open the door for terrorist groups to seize power and threaten the safety of Americans. We cannot turn a blind eye to Russia’s unprovoked war against Ukraine as Putin spills the blood of innocent people and threatens the stability of the rest of the world,” Tillis said.

Ugh! Tillis is such a leech. He’s always latching onto every hero & headline event to get air time. But no one is interested in getting a celeb moment with him because he does nothing to brag about. Please elect someone who is not a dedicated “Lookatme!”
