Feb. 14. Rox Burhans is the new planning director for the Town of Cornelius. He was most recently the director of development services for Lancaster County in South Carolina.

Rox Burhans
Burhans was planning director in Indian Trail from 2011 to 2019. Burhans, who has 18 years of planning experience, has a BS from Florida State in public administration and a Master’s in planning from the University of Tennessee.

“Rox is a highly qualified planning professional and we are so lucky that he has chosen Cornelius to be the next chapter in his career. Rox will certainly carry on the Cornelius Way with top-notch customer service and leadership skills that will carry the Planning Department in a positive direction in the coming years,” said Wayne Herron, deputy town manager.

This is concerning. Take one look at what is happening along Johnston Rd. From NC to SC And it is exactly what we are experiencing along Catawba. Seems Mr. Burhans has already set the precedent that there is never enough development.
I suppose you never took the time to notice that Johnston Road is in Mecklenburg County and no where near the jurisdiction of Indian Trail. You owe a retraction and apology to Rox.
And I quote “He was most recently the director of development services for Lancaster County in South Carolina.” One could assume from 2018 – 2023. It then goes on to say he was Director in Indian Trail from 2011 – 2018.
Johnston Road is the same as 521 which goes from Mecklenburg County, NC to Lancaster County, SC. I travel this road daily. I know it well.
