New Jetton Extension/Sefton Park roadway dedicated

July 12. Nine months after the $3 million redo of Jetton Road Extension/Sefton Park began, Mayor Woody Washam led the official the ribbon-cutting today for the .75 mile stretch of road that runs from West Catawba to Liverpool. New bike lanes run in both directions, and there is a 10-foot-wide, multi-use path on the south side of the roadway. A new town-owned parking lot offsets parking spaces which were eliminated on the hilly, winding roadway.

Are they going to replace the street sign at Bethel church and Jetton Road now that they are finished?

Interesting use of tax payer funds. The road is awesome but why the 10’ wide multi use pad that nobody will use. The bike lane works great. A lot of money spend on concrete for no reason. We now have a perfect speed trap awaiting us. Nice road at 25mph.

The 10ft wide multi use path is a continuation of the greenway loop. It’s designed to allow continuous travel along the greenway and connects different parts. This was part of the original design and is much cheaper and more efficient than developing greenway from scratch.

      Todd,
Looked at how they may connect. Right now no connection to any of the greenways . Help me or show me where. Sorry still a waste of tax payer money to widen an existing sidewalk no one used to a wider one that no one will use.
      Crosswalks same problem.
