Dec. 17. The City of Concord has ordered that all American and North Carolina flags be lowered to half-staff, beginning immediately until sunset on the day of funeral services to honor Officer Jason Shuping, who killed in the line of duty late Wednesday night. He was 25.
He joined the force less than two years ago.

Police are planning to escort Officer Shuping from the Charlotte Medical Examiner’s Office to Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell beginning around 1 pm.
As a show of respect, individuals and businesses are encouraged to fly the flags at half-staff until the evening of the funeral.
Funeral arrangements have not been released.
The procession today follows this route:
I-85 to Exit 58
US Hwy 29 S to Church St.
Right onto Cabarrus Ave.
Left onto Spring St.
Left onto Corban Ave
Right onto Union St
Right on Buffalo Ave
Left on Church St
Merge back onto US Hwy 29 N
Take I-85 to Rowan County line
Rowan County
I-85 to exit 76 (Nines St)
Right turn and stay straight to the location.

Sorry for the officers family. When our officers leave home they don’t know if that’ll be the last time they see their family members or not. I am from Georgia and I’ve never seen this before until the day of the funeral. Stay respectful N.C. and keep your respect for the officers they are protecting you. My aunt and uncle lived in Charlotte until their passing in the 80s and 90s. R.I.P Officer Shuping
