July 17. MECK Pre-K has registered more than 1,830 children for next year, a record number since its launch in 2018. MECK Pre-K is Mecklenburg County’s free, high-quality pre-K program for all four-year-olds, available at no cost to families. There is still plenty of time and space for families to enroll their children in MECK Pre-K, regardless of income. This year, the Board approved funding for 10 new classrooms.
Visit MECK Pre-K for more information and to submit an application.

Unfortunately not free to everyone who needs it.
Y’all think we need to start building more schools?
(and roads to get to them?)
Naw,just build a commuter rail so the kids can go to school downtown.
