Huntersville DMV re-opens for express services only

Sept. 28. The NC Division of Motor Vehicles  reopened the license plate agency in Huntersville this week.

The operation at 12101 Mount Holly-Huntersville Road was closed Sept. 9 following the discovery of several contract violations by the previous operator.

The agency will be operated by NCDMV staff and will only offer express services to customers, which include vehicle registration renewals, disability placards and 10-day temporary tags.

It will be the first license plate agency, express office in the state.

Hours: 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

This express office will not offer title transactions. You’ll have to go to:

  • Charlotte, 3250-G Wilkinson Blvd., from 9 am-5 pm, 980-237-9598
  • Concord, 929-D Concord Parkway S. from 9 am-5 pm, 704-723-4991
  • Mooresville, 125-3 N. Main St., from 9 a.m.-5 pm, 704-663-5472

Property tax payments and registration renewals can be completed online at MyNCDMV.gov.

    How about driver’s license renewals? Is that part open, as well, or just tag renewal

    You can make an appointment for driver’s license renewal at Huntersville at the NCDMV website. And, in many cases, you can also renew online.
