Oct. 15. As of last night, 95 Tropical Storm Helene-related deaths have been confirmed in North Carolina by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner. The number is expected to continue to rise over the coming days.
A total of 13 shelters are open in Western North Carolina supporting over 560 people.

Keep in mind, that count is only those bodies that have been recovered. My sister lives in Fairview. Neighborhood behind them lost 60 lives immediately. There’s no way there will be less than a thousand recovered and even more never recovered. Many lives and wildlife lost is beyond comprehension! Prayers and more prayers needed everyday!
