Fire at ‘Sushi at the Lake’ closes W. Catawba

April 11. A fire late Tuesday afternoon at Sushi at The Lake had West Catawba closed heading eastbound at 4:30 pm, at the beginning of the afternoon rush. But the fire was out and neither first responders nor restaurant employees were injured. Firefighters from Cornelius-Lemley Volunteer Fire Department and Davidson were on the scene, at 19732 W. Catawba. A hook-and-ladder truck from Davidson was used to put firefighters on the roof of the multi-business strip shopping center which was evacuated. Dozens of firefighters as well as onlookers filled the parking lot. The owner of the restaurant said the fire happened between the lunch and dinner break and no one was injured.

That’s the second time they closed down in about 10 years because of a fire…. something fishy’s going on with this fishy place.
It’s a restaurant… Sometimes things like this happen… What is so fishy about that? Duh!
