Oct. 25. The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce recently honored six first responders from Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville at their annual Public Safety Luncheon. The most outstanding officer from each North Mecklenburg department was selected by their respective chief.

The 2021 winners were: Cpl. Bradley Nichols, Cornelius Police Department; Cpl. Anthony Better, Davidson Police Department; Officer Gavin Aron, Huntersville Police Department; Firefighter Mel Kelly, Cornelius Lemley Fire Department; Cpt. Alex Harris, Davidson Fire Department; and Firefighter/EMT Koppy Williams, Huntersville Fire Department.
