Update: What a mouthful

Aug. 25. [Updated 12:10pm] By TL Bernthal. Is a Cheesecake Factory coming to Birkdale Village?

Here’s the answer Cornelius Today received when we posed that question to the company:

“Thank you for reaching out. Please find a statement on behalf of The Cheesecake Factory below: 

 ‘Our restaurant development team is always on the lookout for premier sites to further grow The Cheesecake Factory brand presence, and all sites that fit our criteria for success will be seriously considered.’  “

Certainly not a satisfying morsel from corporate PR, and there was no response to a followup query.

No comment from Birkdale

Update: Birkdale Village owners said they cannot comment on possible tenants, but will announce when any new leases are signed.  Unconfirmed reports say the restaurant will go in the former Gap clothing store space.
