June 23. The now-closed Cowboy restaurant, part of Cornelius-based Captiva Restaurant Group, will become a seafood restaurant. Joe Douglas, founder of Captiva, said Charlotte-based Waterman Fish Bar will take over the 4,160 square foot space which he will continue to own.

The moderately priced neighborhood seafood concept is expected to open later this year after remodeling.

Paul Manley and Andrew Chapman are founders and owners of The Waterman, located at 2729 South Blvd. in Charlotte’s South End.

Building plans

Douglas said he is focusing on the highly successful 131 MAIN concept and real estate development.

He plans to build more retail space and a medical office building on the property at the northeast corner of Bailey Road and Hwy. 21.

In additional to the original location in Cornelius, Douglas has 131 MAIN restaurants in Asheville, Blakeney and Southpark.

If you have steak on the menu please have a large (12oz or more) Sirloin. Ribeyes have too much fat. At least have a large NY Strip. Thanks
