March 27. With NC State Treasurer Dale Folwell announcing plans to run for governor, NC Rep. John Bradford, a former Cornelius Town Commissioner, said he is considering a run for state treasurer.
“The high volume of calls and texts I received over the weekend encouraging me to run for State Treasurer are very humbling,” the Cornelius resident said.

REP. BRADFORD
While his primary focus is working on the state’s budget and leading the effort for personal income tax cuts, Bradford said he is “an ideal candidate for NC State Treasurer; therefore, I plan to explore the possibilities of my candidacy very seriously. Over the next few weeks, I will not only work to help pass the state budget but I will take some personal time to talk to my family, employees, supporters and others to gain their insights and perspectives about my possible candidacy.”
He will make a formal announcement in the weeks ahead.

John Bradford is not only a great representative, he is a wonderful person and very honest. He will make a GREAT State Treasurer and I hope everyone votes for him!
Please don’t let any Republican run our state. They don’t care about our kids being slaughtered in our schools. They will take away women’s rights in this state. Republicans have done it in other states , it will happen here too.
Shouldn’t someone other than John Bradford say he is the ideal candidate for something? Could he possibly be anymore in love with himself?
It is my understanding that John Bradford voted in favor to change laws in NC to allow AirB&B’s and others to rent homes for stays or parties. Most neighborhoods don’t want rental properties, for obvious reasons. Lowers property values, less upkeep, loud noise, large groups gathering, police involvement, etc. Meanwhile, John Bradford’s community of mansions are not likely to rent out. Peninsula will not have rentals, its convents do not allow rentals in their neighborhood or community. While Mr. Bradford’s property management business profits from managing rental properties. The rest of the families in Cornelius will have to worry about their children being in harms way because the house next door rents out. And remember John Bradford’s involvement with 77 toll lanes? And what qualifies him to be Treasurer for our state?
I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR JOHN BRADFORD.
