QuikTrip opens Thursday morning
Sept. 9. The Cornelius QuikTrip opens Thursday with fast food and drinks inside and nine gas pumps outside. The 5,000 square foot facility. also known as QT, sits on the site of the old Acropolis restaurant and a convenience store, both of which were demolished a year ago. The new QT will be open 24/7 as are all their other locations.
Plans for a roundabout at the immediate intersection were modified after citizen opposition. The final design incorporates twin circles north and south of the Catawba/Hwy. 21 intersection. With NCDOT timetables
in disarray, the precise date for construction is unclear. In the short term, the intersection has been resurfaced and a new traffic signal installed.
The Tulsa, OK-based chain of convenience stores opened in 1958 as a fast food outlet, expanding to gasoline sales in 1971. With the opening of their Cornelius location, there are now more than 835 QT stores in the US, mainly in the southeast, south and Midwest, with over 24,000 employees.

Great….glad had to hear that it is opening! QT stores are the best!!
Never give them one penny of my money
WOW, such a harsh indictment of a convenience store…what did they do? Rape your dog and pour sugar in your gas tank??? Lighten up francis
Help out local businesses. These corporate giants unforgivingly enslave their staff and kill off businesses, i.e. citizens in need of the money for multi-millionaires who could care less about your existence.
As a QT employee I can tell you they hhave taken very good care of me and mmy son. Though I do frequent a locally owned gas station for lower prices on some things. There is a middle ground.
But, mike after dark do you sneak in?? Just saying.
Interested in seeing how it does, as there is a Cashion right across the street and you have TWO Circle Ks one just to the west of Cashion s and another to the east on route 115.
they will suck you in and spit you out.
I wonder why anyone would dislike QT? It is a great company. My daughter has worked there since she was 17 and she is 21 now. She loves her job. She makes great money, gets bonuses and they pay college incentives! She got $2200 for this semester, She is just a clerk but wants to become a manager. My oldest son worked there too and it put him through college. Mom and dad didn’t pay for school. My youngest is now working for them too. He works as much or little as he wants. He started at 16. I would advise any young person starting out to work there! I will ad that customer service is excellent, the food is good and they are very clean!
