Sept. 6. The Peninsula Community Foundation presented a $10,000 check to Little Smiles NC, a Cornelius-basedd organization that provides toys, games, dolls and electronic learning devices to children with significant injuries, disabilities or long-term care needs.

Margi Kyle, Little Smiles founder, accepted the check along with officers Tim Boone, president and Sharon Washam, vice president.

Last year PCF provided grants of over $250,000 to 18 local charities in North Meck.
