Jan. 5. Restaurateur Jon Dressler says he is targeting early March for the opening of Fin & Fino in the former Dressler’s space in the heart of Birkdale Village.
A mainstay of fine dining in Lake Norman for two decades, Dressler’s closed for remodeling in September.
Fin & Fino, which has a location Uptown at 135 Levine Avenue of the Arts, will allow Dressler’s restaurant company, Rare Roots Hospitality, to appeal to a broader base and attract new guests, said Dressler, a fan of the changes in Birkdale Village.
“People still appreciate good food and good service. I think they lean towards a shared plate environment, which promotes more social eating, is a fun change in the culinary world. The question is: Why eat two plates when you can try eight?”

Social seafood
Fin & Fino is a “social seafood house,” with coastal vibes, fresh seafood, high-quality meats, house made pastas and locally grown produce on a menu of small plates.

Looking forward to the Opening of the Fin and Fino restaurant at Birkdale!
Bravo to John and his team. If you have not been to Fin & Fino you are missing out on culinary excellence. From cocktails to the Treatment you will want to add them to your dining routine.
Dressler’s in Birkdale has been our favorite restaurant for years. My wife and I, just the two of us, live in Concord and have celebrated every Valentines Day (we even got the take-out Valentine’s dinner during the pandemic closure), most of our birthdays, and a few anniversaries there for the last 10-12 years. Through the years every meal was excellent, and the best thing was that we didn’t have to make that awful drive into Charlotte for a first class dining experience. I guess “social dining” is aimed at attracting a younger clientele, but it has little appeal for this older couple. I hope Fin & Fino does well, but we miss Dressler’s badly, especially with Valentines Day coming up.
Excited for it to open
