Jan. 10. The volume of new coronavirus cases in today’s NC Dept. of Health & Human Services report was 18,254, down from the 28,474 new cases NCDHHS reported on Friday.

Hospitalizations

COVID-related hospitalizations statewide rose to 3,850 from 3,474 on Friday.

Positivity rate

The positivity rate statewide was 31.1 percent, with Mecklenburg’s 14-day average positivity rate climbing to 31.5 percent

NC deaths

There were 66 new COVID deaths reported today statewide, and four in Mecklenburg.
