I grew up in Charlotte using the FREE public tennis courts. It was wonderful and my family would not have paid for me to use these facilities if there was a charge. Why would Cornelius be willing to spend taxpayer money on public art ( highway art included) but CHARGE FEES for using public recreational amenities? Town Board needs to stay within their budget. Another name for a fee is “Tax”. We need our citizens active and healthy…moving on a court or playing field ( that we have already paid for and keep paying through taxes) encourages this ….NOT looking at aan expensive statue.
