Peninsula Community Foundation establishes $25K matching fund for Helene donations

Oct. 4. The Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF) has partnered with The Peninsula Club and the Peninsula Property Owners Association to help with relief efforts in Western Carolina. Anyone can donate and know that their donation will go to the right place.

PCF will match any monetary donations made up to $25,000 for the Western Carolina Relief Program Fund.

George Searle, president of the foundation, said they are committed to partnering with organizations that allocate at least 90 percent of donations directly to initiatives in Western Carolina, ensuring that no more than 10 percent of funds are spent on administrative expenses.

Donate supplies Saturday

Supplies and non-perishable food items may be dropped off at the club between 10 am and 3 pm tomorrow.

    Along with diapers, I would suggest Desitin, or Boudreaux’s Butt Paste for diaper rash. I would imagine that babies who have to wear a different brand diaper could easily get a rash, or likely already have a rash if the family was misplaced and babies had to wear a soggy diaper for any length of time.

    Also how about work socks that are heavy duty for rescuers along with boots, I saw that size 10 for men is needed, I would guess the average men’s sizes. Women too I think.
