July 30. Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson will be the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce PowerLuncheon speaker on Thursday, Aug. 15 at NorthStone Country Club. The Club is located at 15801 Northstone Dr. in Huntersville.
Robinson is expected to discuss his plans to ensure North Carolina remains a top state to conduct business if he is elected governor. Josh Stein, the Democratic candidate for governor, spoke at the May PowerLuncheon.

Mark Robinson
Quotable
“The Chamber is a nonpartisan organization which does not support or endorse political candidates though we do believe in the principles of good government,” said Bill Russell, CEO of the chamber. “The strength of our community and nation lies in our ability to appreciate the differences in our views, and while we may not always agree, it is our diversity of thought that makes America stand apart from the other nations of the world.”

The cost to attend the luncheon is $35 for members and $40 for non-members. You must RSVP online at lakenormanchamber.org or call the Chamber at 704-892-1922 to reserve your seat by Monday, August 12th.

Background
Robinson is the first Black Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina. He lives in Greensboro.
The luncheon is presented by The Range at Lake Norman and sponsored by ServisFirst Bank, Business Today and Cornelius Today, and WSIC News.

This guy is disgusting! Shame on Bill for inviting him to speak!
I can understand giving him equal time at the Chamber but presented by The Range at Lake Norman?
Can you verify the fact that Mark Rottenson’s mother had an abortion before she married her husband?
Sonny – We invited the Democratic Candidate and N.C. Attorney General Josh Stein to speak in May and we have the Republican Candidate for Governor and the current Lt Gov speaking in two weeks. Both agreed to return next year to speak as Governor if elected in November. I am going to assume we do not need to RSVP you a seat?
Bill Russell
I echo Sonny…. He is the antithesis to anything remotely good.
Great! We can learn how to defraud the federal government of $132,000 through a non-profit. https://www.wunc.org/politics/2024-07-26/mark-robinson-nonprofit-balanced-nutrition-repay-dhhs
There are no words to even say about allowing this man to speak….his words are beyond offensive in so many ways.
So funny seeing liberals who cheer for baby killing at birth to be offended by Robinson.
Then they call to block speech as always. Dems hate free speech.
“We do believe in the principles of good government” says Russell. Is it considered a principle of good government to be “seriously deficient” in running a now shuttered nonprofit and as a result the State of NC is owed thousands upon thousands $$. And salaries of $830,000 paid to Robinson and family members. Can’t fathom the extreme $$ he will rip off the state if elected Governor.
Not to mention the irony of a self-proclaimed small government conservative sucking off the teat of a federally sponsored free lunch program. These guys know no bottom in their hypocrisy.
Do you think we can’t see.right through you.
Considering that Robinson paid for his wife to have an abortion anything you say is pretty much meaningless.
Despite the fact that Robinson is a disgusting human being, he has the right to speak and the Chmmber has the right to host him. It may be more effective if you refuse to patronize the sponsors, The Range at Lake Norman, ServisFirst Bank, Business Today and Cornelius Today, and WSIC News. I will.
I will not protest the sponsors as it is appropriate to have candidates to speak at a forum. That said, the question is whether or not the GOP leaning electorate around here will hold Robinson to any kind of standard. He makes his living grifting off of a government free lunch program and tries to tell women what to do with their bodies after paying for his wife to have an abortion. No to mention his strange comments about the holocaust, etc. Most people wouldn’t vote for him for Mayor, much less Governor but some folks’ minds are so polluted by “MAGA” that they might do so anyway.
Clearly BW is watching too much Fox News, cheering abortions at birth. That’s a crazy right-wing nut case talking point. Most Americans are somewhere in the middle and know a vile human being when they see and hear one! I would say the same things if Josh Stein conducted himself like Robinson does. Robinson does have the right to spread his filth wherever he wants. My point was, it’s a shame he was invited into our community to spread it. That man cannot be the governor of North Carolina and anybody who supports him should rethink their values.
