June 4. Construction has begun at The Serve, a 16-court pickleball facility and restaurant on Chartown Drive, with an official groundbreaking with owners Robin and Jack Salzman as well as local officials.
The Serve represents an investment of $13 million to $17 million.
Opening day could be in January or February next year.
The Serve is on 6.39 acres just north of the Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership. Plans call for a 51,086 square foot facility with 10 indoor courts and six outdoor courts as well as a restaurant.
There will be more than 150 seats for guests in the restaurant, bar, lounge and cafe areas as well as four Top Golf simulator suites.

Carl, Give pickleball a try and you might be hooked like so many of us. There is room in this world for all of us.
What u might see again ,,,are vacant tennis courts , because pickle ballers aren’t using them
Who is funding this?
It’s a private enterprise, with financing from Truist.
