Murder, they wrote in a Cornelius Police Department press release at 4:15 pm Dec. 9, a day after Danielle Newell was found dead in a bathtub at the Microtel Inn on Torrence Chapel Road. Police have identified her husband, Timothy Leonard as a suspect. He was located in Cleveland County Tuesday morning. After speaking with Leonard, Cornelius Police obtained a warrant for First Degree Murder in Mecklenburg County. This is an ongoing investigation.
