Aug. 8. Atrium Health, like many hospitals around the region, is reporting a small increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
The CDDC says it could be the harbinger of a possible fall and winter wave, although it’s unlikely we’ll see the highs of previous winters.
“The numbers are a slight uptick and a good reminder to stay vigilant as we head into the fall respiratory season. It’s a good time to revisit precautions to protect yourself from COVID-19 as well as other illnesses – avoid someone if they are sick, practice good hand hygiene and stay home if you don’t feel well,” Atrium said in a news release.
May 11 marked the end of the federal COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) declaration. This doesn’t mean that COVID-19 is over, but the end of a healthcare crisis.

Here we go again. Are they saying this because there is an election coming soon?
please show the excess deaths last 2 years without Covid. That’s a story people should be aware of.
I just got over COVID. I don’t think any candidates had anything to do with it. The uptick is real.
