Share your thoughts at a public meeting on Smithville Revitalization Plan
May 24. The Town of Cornelius will host a public meeting to present the Smithville Revitalization Plan to residents, property owners and businesses.
The plan, which was developed by the Smithville Community Coalition, includes a mix of residential uses and businesses, as well as infrastructure improvements.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 7, in the Town Hall Community Room from 5-7 pm with a formal presentation at 5:30 pm. Various town boards including the Planning Board, have already approved the revitalization plan.
The purpose of the meeting is to obtain feedback on the plan prior to the Town Board public hearing.

I think that Smithville deserves the same utilities and infrastructure as other citizens of Cornelius. I totally disagree with the idea of using this money to remodel houses that are privately owned. This is not equal or fair to other Cornelius citizens who struggle to maintain their dwellings. We need better infrastructure in Cornelius and we need to make sure our teachers, first responders are paid fairly.
…. agree with Loren. Public money should be used on public property, infrastructure in the entire town and protecting all of our kids in schools, etc.
