How to sound off on Charlotte Douglas flyover noise

Feb. 9. By Dave Yochum. Lots of subjects came up during US Rep. Alma Adams’ Town Hall in Huntersville, including a question from Cornelius Mayor Woody Washam.
Washam’s question: Airplane flyover noise continues to be a significant problem over Cornelius, particularly Lake Norman. What is/can be done to give us relief from this growing challenge in our region? This is impacting our quality of life as it worsens.

Mayor Washam
US Rep. Adams’ answer: Our office has regularly attended and participated in the Airport Community Roundtable (ACR) meetings, which facilitate direct engagement between the Federal Aviation Administration and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport on all the community’s thoughts with respect to the airport, flight routes, and other pertinent issues such as flyover noise. We have also met with the FAA to ask them to work with the ACR to implement their suggestions and regularly speak with the Airport’s executive team on this subject. These discussions are ongoing, and please know you can contact my legislative staffer Gordon Holzberg handling this issue at any time at [email protected]

Now worries Woody, the Build Back Better Electric Jets will sound like Tesla’s…..
really, the boats on the water make a lot more noise than the jets. I guess these are the same people that complain about Boatyard @ LKN. Move to Davidson.
I fly them and don’t like hearing them over my house. The Arrival corridor needs to be re-directed so they have a longer final approach
My history on airport noise over 30 years. We lived in south Charlotte..not effected at that time. .. I recall and enjoyed then Charlotte Mayor Belk ‘ airports tend to,attract, planes”. Over time there have been regulations to limit required, minnimum altitudes to relieve the “ Noise” concerns. regulation enforcement is the current issue….the, airport attracts more traffic now. Noise still an issue.. Many of us like the planes…..calls to airport or politicians that focus on anything other then regulation enforcement is a two sided “ Feel Good” exercise.
I,enjoyed Mayor,Belks,pragmatic,humor…Good,Luck
Noise from private planes and helicopters is far more disruptive than commercial planes. What is the town doing to control the growing number of private aircraft contributing to excessive noise?
