Sirens sound

Oct. 13. The 67 outdoor warning sirens around McGuire Nuclear Station will be tested for three minutes between 11 am and 1 pm today, Oct. 13. The tests are conducted with emergency officials in Mecklenburg, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln and Catawba counties.

Local broadcasting stations will not interrupt regular programming. If there were ever a real emergency, local radio and television stations would broadcast instructions to the public, traffic notwithstanding.
