National Night Out is a national neighborhood crime prevention event, happening annually on the first Tuesday in August. But because of the coronavirus pandemic, the town has moved the event to Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Davidson, meanwhile, canceled its Aug. 4 National Night Out, along with other summer events.

Cornelius is still working out details for its free public event that promotes community safety and crime prevention. The event includes children’s activities, food, entertainment and more.
