Statesville balloon festival announces changes

July 10. In light of COVID-19 restrictions this year’s Carolina BalloonFest will not have any public attendance.
“This decision does not come lightly,” said Bud Welch, executive director of Carolina BalloonFest.

The annual event is known to both captivate the hearts of onlookers and support the community.
Details up in the air
Details are not finalized but National Balloon Rally Charities will work with local pilots to host a festival tribute in October. NBRC is confident there will be “balloons in the sky over Iredell County.”
