Police nab thousands of items for schools

The Cornelius Police Department’s school supply dragnet—better known as Pack the Patrol Car—netted lots of items for students at Cornelius Elementary, J.V. Washam, Bailey Middle and Hough High. Cornelius Police collected over 2,150 school supplies, including 587 notebooks, 328 binders and folders, 181 boxes of crayons, 152 packs of paper, 190 packs of pencils, 120 packs of colored pencils and markers, 114 packs of glue, 82 packs of pens,47 pairs of scissors and 82 packs of erasers.  All of the items were packed into boxes and delivered to the schools.
