April 20. Five new retailers coming to Birkdale Village: Anthropologie, Evereve, Lilly Pulitzer Monkee’s and Southern Tribe.

Also Girl Supply will be closing next month but Girl Tribe will be coming back in a new location. No word on that location or what’s going into the vacated space.

These retailers come as part of North American Properties and Nuveen Real Estate’s strategy partners to restore the 20-year-old mixed-use destination’s regional prominence.

This year, the joint venture partners are on track to celebrate 17 new tenant openings, legacy brand relocations/expansions and storefront remodels.

“Our goal from the onset of this redevelopment project has been to create an environment that guests love and want to return to – that starts with striking the right balance of shopping an dining options,” Adam Schwegman, partner and executive vice president of leasing at NAP. “The increases we’re seeing in foot traffic and tenant sales is proving the modernized guest experience we’ve curated at Birkdale is working,

“We currently have so much demand from prospective  retailers and restaurants that we’re nearly out of space.”

NAP is sorting through a list of  tenants interested in  the two kiosks near the movie theater that are open. These are shorter time leases, as was the lease with Girl Supply.

With moves in place, there’s  an open chairs at the Lululemon location. Lululemon moves into the Victoria’s Secret spot as  Lululemon moves into the Victoria’s Secret space, while Victoria’s Secret moves the former Loft space.

Getting the right retailers in the right space is a process with lots of moving parts. NAP hopes the construction that comes along with new tenants will be completed this year. Work has started on bartaco construction already, for example.

When are they ever going to get the rooftop restaurant going in front of Bad Daddy’s. It’s been a year and nothing.

They had a big hold up with the county. After it was done they wanted them to add sprinkler system. They are past that and it is moving forward now.

Nice to see new retail coming, except that the price point on most of these additions are not geared towards the incomes of retirees and/ or median range incomes. I have always loved Birkdale but the cost of shopping there is not for the average family .

Yes, You expressed aloud what soooo many of us are thinking. I do love all the eateries-Birkdale wants us to eat and shop our way through all day and never leave; except leaving all our $ there! 😉Kids like to shop too so more average affordable things to buy for kids would be a great addition-especially those of us taking our grandkids!
Beautiful Birkdale -safe place to meet and take friends visitors: just balance out the retail pricing , like the wide range of priced eateries-that will make everyone happy.
